Early Childhood Social Therapy Group

Key areas of focus include:

  • social skills & relationship building
  • transitioning between activities and environments
  • attending and participation in group learning experiences
  • personal independence skills, such as mealtimes and toileting
  • developing skills for co-operative play with peers

When does the Social Therapy Program run?

This program runs from 9am – 12pm each day. Typically, children are enrolled in two or three sessions across the week, and we recommend they are also enrolled in a mainstream childcare or preschool where they will have the opportunity to transfer the skills they learn whilst in our group program. 

This program integrates the best of multi-disciplinary early childhood intervention and mimics a natural setting for children to learn. It is enhanced in the following ways: 

  • The ratio is 2 or 3 therapists to every group of 5 children. This ratio means the children are highly supported by early intervention practitioners so that each child is provided the support they need to develop new skills as rapidly as possible.
  • Your child will receive an individualised intervention program aligned with your NDIS goals to help them learn specific skills that are important to you and your family.

Is the Early childhood Social Therapy Group Program suitable for my child?

The Early Childhood Social Therapy Group is suitable for children who are:

  • not yet attending a Mainstream education setting
  • enrolled in Childcare or Preschool but are not settling or fully participating in the programs
